Welcome to Searching the Psalms


Welcome to “Searching the Psalms: Seeking God and Justice for 150 days during the Pandemic." Each psalm is a divine taste of heaven: bitter, sweet, salt, spice, it has it all.  The Psalms are songs of poetry and expressions of people going through real joys and real difficulties seeking God. In them, we find wisdom and hope and so much more! I pray each one nourishes you. I pray we all go further with God, learn more about ourselves, and do justice during these difficult days of the twin pandemics of coronavirus and racism in America. I’m not a master teacher of the Psalms. I am your brother on the journey. I pray I will be helpful to you in staying firmly “planted by the streams of water” (Psalm 1:3).     Please use this blog to share how each Psalm is affecting you and your relationship with God and how you are living the Psalms. Be creative, expressive, it's fine to share your joys and your pain. We love you and we appreciate how you add to this Psalms community and I'm sure what is said here will help somebody else. This blog is not intended to be used to promote any political candidate but rather how we are living the Psalms.

Come with your glorious power and save me! 2 Listen to my prayer; turn your ears to my cry! 3 These violent men have risen up against me; heartless, ruthless men who care nothing about God seek to take my life. Pause in his presence 4 But the Lord God has become my divine helper. He leans into my heart and lays his hands upon me! 5 God will see to it that those who sow evil will reap evil.
